Too close

Leaving aside the officiating for a moment, Kam Chancellor punching the ball out of Megatron's hands just outside the goal line was one of the most epic saves in football history.

Like everyone else, I was unaware that it was a penalty for KJ Wright to bat the ball out of bounds in the end zone.

If correctly officiated, Detroit would have had first & goal on the 6" line. It is hard to imagine the Lions not scoring a touchdown, and even harder to imagine Seattle's offense driving down the field in the few seconds remaining to score.

So, we probably should have lost that game.

Why was it even close?

The defense looked good again, but our offense continues to sputter because Darrell Bevell still won't adjust his schemes and call plays that fit our personnel.

Obviously, it was the turnovers that really killed us. Russell Wilson is not normally fumble-prone, but he coughed up three and lost two, including the scoop-and-score. Ouch.

If we can barely handle the Lions at home, then how can we hope to compete against the undefeated Bengals on the road on Sunday?

We're getting dangerously thin at running back....
