The Lions have been bad so far this year on both sides of the ball.
On offense, a bad O-Line and anemic running game has put Matthew Stafford under increased pressure, making him look average despite throwing to one of the best receiving duos in the league in Calvin Johnson and Golden Tate.
Seattle's D will be without premier run-stuffer Brandon Mebane, but the reserves picked up the slack last week, and the pass rush should matter more than run defense tonight.
Marshawn Lynch is a scratch tonight with a bad hamstring, so Baby Beast Thomas Rawls and Old Fred Jackson will have to carry the load on the ground. DangeRuss will need to throw and run more than is normal when Lynch is in the game.
Fortunately, the Lions defense is a shadow of its former self. Their all-world D-Line left in free agency. So far this year, Detroit ranks 29th in points allowed and 28th in yards allowed.
Their defense is eminently exploitable, if offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell can snap out of his first-half playcalling funk.
If Seattle can capitalize, we can claw our way up to .500, which would be good, since our next two opponents--Cincinnati & Carolina--haven't lost, yet.
Go, Hawks!
